In this randomized, placebo-controlled, clinical double-blind study, 66 women with infertility or missed menstrual cycles completed the evaluation of treatment with an extract of Chasteberry to determine the effects on conception and mensturatin. The outcome measure was pregnancy or spontaneous menstruation in women with infertility or amenorrhoea. 31 of 66 (57.6%) either conceived or had a successful menstrual cycle. 15 women conceived during the observation period.
The researchers concluded:
“In women with sterility due to secondary amenorrhoea and luteal insufficiency, a treatment with Mastodynon (Chasteberry) can be recommended over a period of 3 to 6 months.”
